Album Cover Research

There are many different things that could be done when creating my album, such as using Adobe Photoshop to create various effects such as a black and white image of the band. Before developing my album research had to be conducted first. Below are albums and a CD produced my Muse, the albums are 'Black Holes & Revelations' and 'Absolution' the CD is from Black Holes & Revelations. From my research i was able to identify general conventions of Muse albums, such as the use of simple text and simple images, and the lack of effects created by Photoshop. To conform to this i decided to only use minimal effects in my album artwork, to use simple but striking images of the band so Gaze Theory could be applied, and also to ensure my CD artwork was as simplistic as possible, although i would like to use more effects on my ancillary products such as possibly adding an image to my CD it is vital i ensure to conform to the conventions of muse products such as those below.
